Today I had a strange man in my shower :-) Actually it was a friend who's water is off at the moment. Afterwards he suggested going for coffee as a thank you.....and then discovered he'd left his wallet at home so I had to pay. Luckily I found this hyterically funny LOL

Such excitment here. 3 straight days of rain (apparently some places had twice as much rain fall as is normal for the entire month on Novemeber) half the country flooded. Since Cork city is basically built on water we were hit fairly badly. Most of the city centre was under water after the river broke it's banks. It made getting to work something of a challange :-)
Ironically we're now suffering from a water shortage! The water treatment plant flooded & they've had to turn off the water to half the homes in the city. I still have water but they're predicting that before they get it sorted out the water will end up dirty. Fortunately I'm going to Dublin (which didn't get flooded badly) tomorrow until Wednesday. By the time I get home things should be mostly back to normal......or the whole city will have floated away LOL

I so need to win the lottery - cause this having time off thing rocks. I could live like this very easily :-)
Stayed in Anna's Staurday and in honour of the night that was in it we watched Halloween eps of Buffy. Which was fun. Also there was roast chicken & roast potatoes & cupcakes & wine & much, much catching up. A good night.
Yesterday went to my aunts for a family dinner. More enjoyable then I was expecting it to be TBH. Lots of mocking each other (family way of showing affection) and laughing. The 10 year old cousin is getting scarily grown-up. Which on the up side means he gets fully involved in the teasing.....he has an impressive glare on him!
Today I did some serious cleaning - corners of my spare-room that haven't seen the light of day in well over a year have been scrubbed! This is partly because it needed to be done & partly because I have friends staying Friday night.
And now I have to go start cooking cause I have a friend coming over for dinner. Should be a nice relaxed evening.
I'm thinking of going to Killarney tomorrow for the spin. There's some nice shops down there and, depending on the weather, I might find a beach & go for a walk. Just because I can.

I have developed a strange & frankly disturbing new obsession with de-aged fic. I have no idea why....I've been avidly reading fanfic for over 10 years now in all & any fandoms and I've never had any urge to read de-aged fic before and now suddenly I'm searching it out. Anyone have any recommendations?????????

This whole brothers having girlfriends thing is very strange...in the past 12months bro's 1 & 3 have (for the first time ever) intoduced us to their girlfriends. In the case of bro 3 his gf is one of the agents in the call-centre where I work - although he met her through friends - so I knew her before he started going out with her. And with bro 1 he's going out with an American girl - she was in dublin studying when they met but she's moved home now so they have the whole long-distance thing going on. So on the one hand I see gf 3 (if the bros are being numbered so are the gf's - it's easier!) all the time at work but am techincally her boss and on the other hand gf 1 I've only met twice but get messages from on facebook. And bro 2 is starting to feel left-out I think :-)
And I keep having to resist the urge to ask the gf's if they know exactly what they're in for :-)

Apparently there's going to be far more spiders & daddy long legs around this year because of the weather we had during the summer. Spiders I can live with.....but I hate daddy long legs with an irrational passion :-(

A man behind me in Tesco bought 2l of milk, a punnet of strawberries, 4 lemons, a bag of monkey nuts.......and 12 bags of sugar. What in the name of God would anyone be doing with all of that????????

Try not to laugh too hard but I am now the proud owner of seasons 1 & 2 of The Flying Doctors. I loved that show as a teenager....and Sam the pilot was my first really big crush LOL I also suspect it's where my obsession with completely OTT melodramatic H/C came from :-)

Arrived home from work to find an Ikea catalogue in the door. It's like Christmas come early :-) For those not living in Ireland we got our first Ikea (well if you don't count Belfast) last month when it opened in Dublin. And I can't wait to go up there. So the catelogue is very exciting!

I have a cut on my stomach. I have no idea how or when I got it....but I don't think it was there yesterday morning. And there doesn't seem to be blood on anything I was wearing yesterday even though it must have bleed. All in all it's a mystery. It's bad enough that I regularly find brusies....those at least I can put down to my tendency to walk into random pieces of furniture....but mystery cuts are a bit much :-))

Jam,jam, jam. Just had a slice of brown soda bread with strawberry jam while waiting for the big pot'o'soup I made yesterday to heat up and it was lovely :-)
Have had a ridiculously lazy day - the highlights were buying leave in conditioner spray & a lipstick brush in Boots...and oiling the front door!

Saw Martina McBride in concert on Friday and she was awesome. We were in the second row from the front and her hair really is that shiney in real life - how does she do that?????
Yesterday went to a friends wedding. She had a handfasting cermony officiated by a druid on the beach of an island. Very different (& getting on & off the boat had a level of excitment not normally found at weddings) but a really nice day.
And today I'm being lazy. Although I did make some very good soup.
Also I made a new icon. See :-)

For the first time in ages I've been listening to Garth. And I really do love him. I'd also forgotten how good the Chris Gaines stuff. My ultimate concert fantasy is still Garth in a very small venue :-)
